To The 50, Thank You

Like most of the world, we have been tuned to the TV and internet waiting about news on the aftermath of the magnitude 9 earthquake and killer tsunami  that hit Japan most especially on the efforts made to prevent the full meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear facility.  I feel for the victims and their families who have lost family members or are still trying desperately to have contact with them.  I found this article on yahoo news and I thought of self-sacrifice which the Japanese are known for and how these nameless 50 workers of the Tokyo Electric Company are doing just that, volunteering to receive further doses of radiation in order to prevent contamination of their fellow citizens.  Well, you might say, it's their job; but, if you were in their place, would you do the same? I think not. It is only a rare breed of human beings who would do such a thing and as shameful it is to admit, I wouldn't.

For their supreme sacrifice, thank you 50 nameless workers.  May you be blessed a million-fold for what you are doing. I pray that you all be safe and I think that I am not the only one. May our prayers be heard and keep you safe. Thank you!
