Little J Turns One!

I'm One!
It has been a month since Little J  turned one and since I have been very busy with housework, I haven't posted the details of her party. Sarge and I have chosen to do the usual birthday party scene (McDonald's this time) since we were pressed for time and we did not want to have to choose separate venue, catering, entertainers, etc.

To those of you who are in the military and who have a husband who can get called to duty any time, I think you can relate.  My husband received his orders to report for duty somewhere in the South last January 16 and that means that he only has 10 days to get his butt over there or he would be considered AWOL (absent without leave) and if you add 10 days to the 16th, that would be the 26th and since Little J's birthday falls on the 27th, we had to do some major facebooking , calling and texting to inform our guests that Little J's first birthday party has been moved to the 23rd instead of the 30th.  We were glad that we chose to have the party at McDonald's Forbes Town (yes we live in Angono and since majority of our invitees live in the Fort Bonifacio area, we chose this venue)  which meant that we only had to deal with one vendor.  The downside of that was that few kids got to go to the party which meant few kids got to participate in the games. Major sad face here!  There were only seven kids who played! A parent's nightmare, I tell you but nonetheless, we enjoyed the day as we were able to celebrate with our close friends and family.  Again, I'd like to thank those who attended the party, you made Little J's party a memorable one. Here are some pictures of the event:

Oh Brother, You Made Me Cry But I Loooove It!

Warning:  This post contains a video that is not for the sappy people out there or the cry babies like me.  Do not say that I did not warn you.

I saw a replay of American Idol 10's auditions last weekend and I was telling my brother how the new judges were and the people who auditioned; those who were really great and those who sucked big time and he told me about this guy, Chris Medina, and I'll let you watch for yourself:

If you're sappy like me, you must be crying buckets now. Don't say I didn't warn you!  It's nice to know that there are still decent people out there and men who are not afraid to show they care. Just look at his devotion and she's not even his wife! All I can say is, good luck on your journey and if ever you become a big star, I hope you stay the same.

I Can Dream, Can't I?

I'm always fond of looking at house designs and floor plans. Yeah, I'm weird like that.  I love our cozy row house; but sometimes, you just have to look at what's out there, don't you? So, I've been visiting www.jaobuilders.com and here's what I'm loving right now, find it here and here.  At 213 square meters, it's huge! Well, compared to our current house that is.  But it fits my requirement of having an open plan, three bedrooms, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet (sigh!), a family hall which can serve as a prayer room, a den/study which can serve as a library to house our growing collection of books (oh love, love, love!) and get this, a LARGE kitchen! I'm not the best cook but I can cook, enough to save us from opening canned goods! haha. If I had a kitchen like this,  I think I'll be inspired to  cook more! But, our newly-renovated kitchen has lived up to its potential and I'm loving it plus, there's a new addition (more on that in a separate post) so, I STILL LOVE IT! haha. Did I mention that every bedroom has it's own toilet and bath?! Growing up, I've always wanted my own toilet and bath and I promised myself that when I have the means, I will build a house that has bathrooms in every bedroom! See, I told you I'm weird. hehe. Well, I can dream and as a former classmate once said, "Libre na nga ang pangarap, titipirin pa!" (Dreams are free, so why economize it or something to that effect.) But, the price tag to build it with a superior finish is get this, Php 4.2M; so, for now, the dream still remains a dream and besides, I am very happy with our cozy house. So, that's that!
